Description
This indicator measures the difference between male and female median earnings (full-time gross hourly earnings excluding overtime), expressed as a percentage of male earnings. Three years combined data is used to improve the robustness of this indicator. Estimates are workplace based and cover full-time employees on adult rates whose pay for the survey pay-period was not affected by absence.
Data are filed under the second of the three years included i.e. data covering 2006, 2007 and 2008 are presented as 2007 data.
This information is obtained from the Annual Survey of Hours & Earnings (ASHE). This is an Office for National Statistics (ONS) publication.
