Vital Events Reference Tables 2003
Vital Events Reference Tables 2003
Since 1855 the Registrar General of Scotland has, under statute, produced an annual report containing a general abstract of the numbers of births, deaths, and marriages registered during the foregoing year. We have continued the tradition for the year 2003. However, the annual report has undergone a major makeover. The reasoning behind the change was to produce a shorter easier to read report, in colour, with additional commentary and charts. This is the second edition of 'Scotland's Population - the Registrar General's Annual review of Demographic Trends'.
Tables containing 2003 data will be divided into 9 sections; Summary; Population; Births; Stillbirths and infant deaths; Deaths; Deaths by cause; Marriages; Divorces and Adoptions and re-registrations. The tables (listed below) are based on vital event numbers.
