Re-estimation of small area population estimates time series (2001-2010)

A consistent back series of small area population estimates on 2011 Data Zone boundaries is now available from 2001 to 2010. More information and details on the production of these can be found in the methodology paper.

Information on data zones

Small area population estimates are produced at data zone level (areas with approximately 500-1,000 household residents).
Data zone Reference Material, and examples of Best Practice, are available on the Scottish Government website.
