Correction of Table Q4
Unfortunately, there were some minor errors in a few of the figures for the first quarter of 2011 in the version of Table Q4 that was available until it was corrected on the morning of 18 October 2012. The reasons for the errors, and how they were corrected, are now explained in footnotes 3 and 5 of the table. We apologise for any problems that may have been caused by these errors.
Correction of Table Q6
Unfortunately, the version of Table Q6 that was available between 9.30am and about 12.30pm on Thursday 14th June was wrong. Due to an error in the computer procedure for producing the table, the columns for most of the NHS Boards contained figures that were actually for other NHS Boards (correct values were given for Scotland and a few of the NHS Boards). Therefore, any figures which were taken from Table Q6 that morning (and any copies of the table that were made then) should be replaced by what is in the corrected table, which was made available that afternoon. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
First Quarter 2012
This release presents provisional figures for vital events which were registered in Scotland in the period from 1 January 2012 to 31 March 2012, inclusive. The tables (available below) provide statistics of births, stillbirths, marriages, civil partnerships and deaths, including:
- quarterly figures for Scotland for each of the past ten years;
- the totals for each Local Authority and NHS Board area for the latest quarter; and
- more detailed analyses of the numbers of deaths (e.g. cross-classified by sex, cause and NHS Board area) for the latest quarter.
