Quality Assurance

In 2007, the Population and Migration Statistics branch of National Records of Scotland (NRS) quality assured the estimates produced by CACI Ltd. The Information & Statistics Division of NHS Scotland also quality assured the estimates separately.

Lack of data meant that the methodology for producing the 1991-1995 Small Area Population Estimates (SAPE) was considerably more simplistic than the methodology for producing the 1996-2000 SAPE. After review, Population And Migration Statistics (PAMS) have decided that the 1991-1995 data is not of sufficient quality to publish.
