Data on social care provided or purchased by Local Authorities from the Social Care Survey (Home Care Census prior to 2013), for the week that includes 31 March of the given year.
The data is supplied by all 32 Local Authorities in Scotland, who collect this information as part of their Social Care Management Information system and is submitted to Scottish Government via ProcXed.
Information is returned for every person who has had a Social Care assessment and receives or uses: During the Census Week (any week including 31 March 2015):

Options for Home Care Provider field: Local Authority Private or Voluntary - available for All Hours only
Options for Hours Provided field: Number of hours: Number of hours of care provided. 10 or more hours: Number of clients receiving 10 or more hours of care in the week. All Hours: Despite the name, this is the number of clients receiving at least part of their care from the Local Authority or from the Private/Voluntary sectors (based on the value of Home Care Provider) Average Hours: Number of hours per client (i.e. hours / clients) (note: typo in label in ODPP (Average))

Data submitted to Scottish Government using the secure ProcXed system. No rounding applied to the 2005-09 data currently on the ODPP, but current published data rounded to nearest 10 (clients) or 100 (hours).
Data goes through a validation process when entered into ProcXed, and any unusual/unexpected values are checked with the Local Authority.
No restrictions on access to dataset.
